BLD Polls: Who Deserves the Game Ball For Buffalo’s Win Over Washington?

AUTHOR: | IN: BLD Polls | COMMENTS: None Yet

Another Bills victory means we need to award another game ball to Buffalo’s MVP of the game. The last time Buffalo won (Week 5 against the Eagles), our readers selected S George Wilson for the honor. He had another huge game yesterday, so he’ll have a chance to make it two game balls in a row this week. A lot of guys stepped up and played well yesterday (we could of nominated anyone from the defense, really), but only one can get our game ball for the week. (To see a complete list of our past winners, click here.) Here [...]

Bills Shutout Redskins 23-0 in Toronto

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

How about them Bills? Bills Defense had an awesome game, nine (9) sacks, two (2) interceptions and 178 total yards. That’s right, 178 total yards. There’s no doubt, the Bills D will be the talk of the NFL this week, especially Safety George Wilson. Already, Wilson is being mentioned as the “Defensive Player of the Year.” The D needs to build off of this game. They already showed they can create turnovers, and with this game, they showed they can shut you down and out. By the way, this is first time in Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan’s illustrious career, [...]

Bills Give Redskins a 23-0 Beatdown

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well, that was surprisingly easy. Buoyed by a dominating defense that held the Redskins to 1?? total yards and recorded nine sacks, but the Bills defeated the Washington Redskins 23-0 today in the Bills’ annual Toronto Series contest. It was Buffalo’s first shutout since December of 2006. If you can believe it, this game wasn’t nearly as close as the score indicated. The Bills dominated from start to finish and the outcome of the contest was never in doubt. The Bills absolutely battered Redskins QB John Beck to the tune of a team-record nine sacks, led by rookie Marcell Dareus’s [...]

BLD Picks NFL Games Against the Spread: Week 8

AUTHOR: | IN: Gambling | COMMENTS: None Yet

Let’s be real: a lot of people love football because it’s the easiest and funnest sport to gamble on. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Personally, I’m too broke to gamble (being a first-year public school teacher isn’t too lucrative), but I sure do watch a lot of football. I figure I should help* my loyal readers out with some gambling advice. Each week I’ll pick four games plus a fifth “Lock of the Week.” *Help not guaranteed to be actually helpful. I was on my way to an okay week last week…and then the Dolphins and Chargers decided to [...]

Can Buffalo Keep Paying the Bills?

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Buffalo Bills were one of the most exciting surprise stories in the first month of the National Football League season as they went from a team that was nothing more than a “go against” sports commodity into a team that was bringing better than expected board value. Buffalo won 4 of their first 5 games with the season opening 41-7 blowout at Kansas City as 3.5 point road dogs setting the tone for the year. Harvard’s own Ryan Fitzpatrick has settled in at starting quarterback under the expert tutelage of head coach Chan Gailey. Fitzpatrick had a stellar 95.3 [...]

The Bills Have Their Quarterback: Why it Was a Great Move to Lock Down Ryan Fitzpatrick Long Term

AUTHOR: | IN: Bills Offense | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Bills have gone all-in on Ryan Fitzpatrick as their franchise quarterback. Yesterday, it was revealed that the Bills have signed Fitzpatrick to a big six-year contract extension that could worth as much as $59 million. The contract includes $24 million in guaranteed money. You don’t make that kind of investment if you don’t believe Fitzpatrick is your quarterback of the future, and GM Buddy Nix said as much yesterday, saying: ”I’m excited about Ryan getting this done. He’ll be our quarterback for a long time.” Of course, the question now is: Did the Bills make the right move here? Is [...]
