It appears that the Bills may be destined to get that #1 pick in next year’s draft. The Bills gave another valiant effort on the road against a contending team in the AFC, and yet again, came up just short of a win. I suppose if there is any team that should settle for consolation prizes, it is one that is 0-7, but it’s another chapter in the story of incredible losses for the Bills franchise.

It has been quite a while since the fans in Buffalo have had anything to be really excited about when it comes to their pro football team. The last time there was legitimate excitement for this franchise was likely when they went out and signed Terrell Owens last season. Fans had ideas of Trent Edwards blossoming and the offense being unstoppable with two top wideouts that defenses had to account for. Back in August when I was looking at the Buffalo Bills’ schedule, I immediately circled Halloween as an easy win for the Bills as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs. By now you know, Aaron Maybin is days away from receiving the ever so powerful ‘bust’ label in the NFL. Drafted 11th overall in last year’s draft, Maybin has gone from not being productive out on the field, to not even making it onto the field, as he was a healthy scratch is last week’s OT lost to the Baltimore Ravens. A healthy scratch says a lot about a player, especially when he is on one of the NFL’s worst defenses.

What a game! Yes, the Buffalo Bills lost yesterday, but this win-less team showed a lot of character and fight in them, taking a Baltimore Ravens team that many predict to make it to the Superbowl, into OT, and almost pulling out the upset. There were a lot of great plays made and stats collected in Week 7 by the Bills, but we here at BuffaLowDown want to know, who deserves the game ball for Week 7?
