The relationship between Stefon Diggs and the Bills organization had crumbled to the point that Brandon Beane ate over $30 million in dead cap money. Josh Allen may not be done answering questions from the media about his relationship with Diggs, but at his recent press conference, he was nothing but class when confronted with those questions.
"It's definitely hard to part ways with a guy that's been instrumental to our success here, I wish we could keep everybody. We lost a lot of veteran leadership. It is what it is. I don't get paid to make changes on the team."Josh Allen
Expect the Buffalo Bills to get Josh Allen a few more weapons
The Bills will look to try to rebuild their receiver corps through the coming draft, and probably via free agency after the draft as well. Expect the Bills to select two in the draft and sign another after the draft. Brandon Beane doesn't seem too concerned though, "I would say we have a group of guys as we sit here today who we believe bring different skill sets. We like the group. Would we like to add to it at some point? Yes. But I'm not sitting here thinking we have a glaring hole. But I get the question, and I get the perception."
In my latest mock draft, post-Diggs, I had Buffalo addressing the receivers early with the first two picks. After listening to Brandon Beane's recent press conference, I would be surprised if the Bills go with the wide receiver double-dip with the first two picks. They'll likely grab one in the top rounds and another between the 3rd and 7th rounds. I hope this Diggs drama will be behind us now and Allen and the Bills can focus on the 2024 season, without further distractions. Somehow, I doubt the national media is done asking Allen questions about it.
