Cameron Dantzler

This is one player that seems to draw a lot of connections to the Buffalo Bills. The former Mississippi State was mocked to the Bills by Maroon and White Nation last month and most recently was the Bills third round pick in Pro Football Focus’ mock draft.

It certainly makes a lot of sense because he falls into the mold of the other two cornerbacks mentioned as having great length at 6’2″ but may not have the same size as the other cornerbacks at only 185 pounds.

Dantzler showed a good knack of tracking the ball and in three seasons had five interceptions and 20 passes defended. Kyle Crabbs of The Draft Network described a cornerback that projects best as an outside corner in a zone defense, which is exactly what the Bills need.

"Player Summary – Cameron Dantzler projects best in a zone role as an outside cornerback at the NFL level. Dantzler brings desirable skill in keying the quarterback and illustrates great awareness of route combinations and anticipation of attacking the football in the air. Dantzler needs to continue to work on adding functional strength and weight to his frame, in the meantime he may be something of a developmental investment for his first NFL contract."

The selection of Dantzler in the fourth round, possibly the third, would be a perfect spot for the Buffalo Bills to select him.
