Buffalo Bills schedule 2024: game-by-game predictions for upcoming season

The schedule is out, and it's time for a way too early week-by-week look at the Bills opponents and a prediction of the outcome will be for each.

The NFL kept everyone guessing for a while by not announcing the date the schedule would be revealed, but it's finally out. Buffalo will have their work cut out for them in 2024 and will have to battle if they are to defend their AFC East division title. They drew the NFC West division, which includes three teams with winning schedules in 2023, including the San Francisco 49ers.

Buffalo also has both Super Bowl participants on the schedule, the Kansas City Chiefs and 49ers. In addition, they face off against the Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans. The Texans matchup will be fun with Stefon Diggs on the opposing team's sideline. Then of course, the AFC East looks to be one of the toughest divisions in the league.

Buffalo Bills 2024 week to week score predictions

Week 1: Sun 09/08· 1:00 PM EDT
Buffalo Bills vs Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals should get Kyler Murray for a full season, and they will be better than in 2023; however, they aren’t at the Bills' level yet.  I’ve got the Bills winning another home game.  Bills, 34 – 13.

Week 2: Thursday 9/12 @ 8:15 PM EDT
Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins might have the fastest offense in the NFL, but they have issues in the trenches and an above-average quarterback at best.  Miami once again gets swept by Buffalo.  Bills win, 27 – 21.

Week 3: Mon 09/23· 7:30 PM EDT
Buffalo Bills vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Josh Allen and the Bills have lost two straight against the Jaguars, losing both by a combined eight points.  Buffalo will be facing one of their former receivers too, Gabe Davis.  Can they break that losing streak?  The AFC will be as difficult as it has ever been, and every win against an AFC opponent will be vital.  Bills win, 31 – 20.

Week 4: Sun 09/29· 8:20 PM EDT
Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens

The Bills always seem to play Lamar Jackson and the Ravens very well.  The one area I can see where this might change is not having Jordan Poyer and potentially Micah Hyde in the defensive backfield.  How much was their game a factor against Jackson?  I will stick with recent history until the Ravens prove differently.  Bills win, 27 – 24.

Week 5: Sun 10/06· 1:00 PM EDT
Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans

I can’t wait for this one, for obvious reasons.  This game pits former Bills receiver Stefon Diggs against Buffalo.  You know Josh Allen will want to have one of his best games of the season against the Texans.  Allen has a huge game and Buffalo makes a statement.  Bills win, 37 – 27.

Week 6: Mon 10/14· 8:15 PM EDT
Buffalo Bills at New York Jets

I’m sticking with my initial thought here, which is the Bills split the season with the Jets in a fight for the division title.  Each team wins at home, so this one goes to the Jets.  Jets win 21 – 13.

Week 7: Sun 10/20· 1:00 PM EDT
Buffalo Bills vs Tennessee Titans

The Titans aren’t the same team they’ve been in years past and Derrick Henry is no longer a Titan, but they’ve added some new pieces in L’Jarius Sneed, Tyler Boyd, and Tony Pollard.   Still, I think Buffalo comes out with a win.  Bills, 27 – 23.

Week 8: Sun 10/27· 4:05 PM EDT
Buffalo Bills at Seattle Seahawks

I’ll be at this game, so be on the lookout for me in a large crowd of Bills fans, since I’m bringing the whole family.  Hopefully, Buffalo comes out of there with a win, so far the Bills are undefeated when I’m in attendance.  Bills win 35 – 17.

Week 9: Sun 11/03· 1:00 PM EST
Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins had a ton of turnover, particularly defensively.  Tua isn’t elite, and their offensive line will struggle.  Buffalo swept the Dolphins last season, and stole the division at the end of the season.  I don’t see Miami as much of a threat in the division.  Bills win, 37 – 23.

Week 10: Sun 11/10· 1:00 PM EST
Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts

Anthony Richardson returns this season for the Colts, but with only a few games of NFL experience under his belt, will he be ready to take that next step?  The Colts are a solid football team and caused some team trouble last season with Gardener Minshew under center.  There is almost always at least one game a team inexplicably loses, and this is one of those.  Colts win, 24 – 20.

Week 11: Sun 11/17· 4:25 PM EST
Buffalo Bills vs Kansas City Chiefs

Buffalo finally gets the Chiefs at home in the regular season, but that didn’t seem to matter much in the playoffs.  Regardless, Buffalo seems to play better against the Chiefs in the regular season, and that doesn’t change.  Bills win, 24 – 23.

Week 12: Bye

Week 13: Sun 12/01· 8:20 PM EST
Buffalo Bills vs San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers will be a tough test for the Bills, but Buffalo will battle and give San Francisco a run for their money.  When the final whistle blows, I think Buffalo falls just short in this one.  Buffalo will be tough at home, but the 49ers win in the end.  49ers, 24 – 21.

Week 14: Sun 12/08· 4:25 PM EST
Buffalo Bills at Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams could be a solid team in 2024, but with the retirement of Aaron Donald, their defense isn’t going to scare too many teams.  Matthew Stafford has battled through injuries since the Rams Super Bowl win, and I’m not sure how much he has left in the tank.  Bills win 33 – 20.

Week 15: Sun 12/15· 4:25 PM EST
Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions

The last couple of times the Bills and Lions have faced each other, they have been tightly contested battles.  The Lions are one of the better teams in the NFC and I think they steal this one from the Bills.  Lions win, 31 – 28.

Week 16: Sun 12/22· 1:00 PM EST
Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots

This might be the easiest opponent on the Bills schedule.  The Patriots are in a full rebuild and will take a couple of seasons.  New rookie quarterback Drake Maye was my favorite QB coming out of this class, but now I’m hoping I’m wrong.  Either way, the Bills win.  Bills, 33 – 17.

Week 17: Sun 12/29· 1:00 PM EST
Buffalo Bills vs New York Jets

The Jets will be Buffalo’s biggest threat to winning the division.  Assuming Aaron Rodgers is fully recovered from his Achilles injury and remains healthy the Jets will be a tough opponent for anyone.  They also always give Josh Allen trouble.  All that to say, the Bills will win, but I think they probably split the season series.  Bills, 23 – 21.

Week 18: TBD
Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots

I don’t see the Patriots putting up much of a fight against many teams this season.  I like Drake Maye as a quarterback, but there will be some growing pains, especially working with two rookie quarterbacks.  Buffalo dominates the Patriots again.  Bills win 38 – 10.
