Summer is a time for getting into the nitty gritty and overanalyzing every aspect of the coming season. The 2026 schedule was recently released, garnering most of the attention for the time being until training camps open later this summer.
The Buffalo Bills have a strong offensive line, one of the strongest groups in the league. But when it comes to their opponents, who are some of the toughest lines they’ll collide with? These five offensive line groups could have new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard being a bit concerned.
5 offensive line units who could give Bills huge trouble in 2026
5.) Chicago Bears - Week 15
The Bears have a lot of dynamic pieces on the Bears offense, but their offensive line is one of the best in the game. Ozzy Trapilo and Darnell Wright are excellent tackles, and Joe Thuney remains one of the best guards in football.
Center Drew Dalman retiring certainly put them in a tough spot, but Garrett Bradbury is an excellent replacement. Logan Jones in the second could be a key piece of the future and Jedrick Wills Jr. is a great depth piece, giving the Bears a group that can compete with anyone.
4.) Minnesota Vikings - Week 9
Christian Darrisaw is back and is one of the best tackles in football when healthy. Brian O’Neill, Blake Brandel, and Donovan Jackson are excellent anchors.
The Vikings even got deeper thanks to former Bill Ryan Van Demark and third-round draft pick Caleb Tiernan. The Vikings don’t have the kind of offensive line that jumps out at you but they can wear you down in a hurry.
3.) Los Angeles Chargers - Week 3
What was one of the worst lines in the league last season is shaping up to be one of the best. Then again, when you can return Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt at the tackle positions, the line is going to receive a massive upgrade.
With the additions of Cole Strange, Tyler Biadasz, and Kayode Awosika, not to mention Jake Slaughter in the second round of the draft, this group should not only be improved but one of the very best units in football.
2.) Los Angeles Rams - Week 5
The Rams are one of the most complete teams in the NFL and it starts up front. They return one of the best offensive lines in the NFL from last season, with Warren McClendon Jr. and Alaric Jackson keeping quarterback Matthew Stafford upright and dangerous.
Steve Avila, Kevin Dotson, and Coleman Shelton are all more than capable, and the Rams have excellent depth that only got better with the addition of Keagen Trost in the third round of the draft. They can roll nearly two full lines that are more than capable of keeping this offense going.
1.) Denver Broncos - Week 16
The Broncos had one of the best units in the league in 2025 and that shouldn’t change one bit. Garrett Boles and Mike McGlinchey provide a pair of bookends that are as good as anyone at protecting the quarterback in the league.
On the interior, Ben Powers, Luke Wattenberg, and Quinn Meinerz bring experience and strong pedigrees to the table. The Broncos are also one of the best depth groups in the league, capable of throwing a more than competent backup into the mix at any time. This is the biggest challenge the Bills will face in terms of getting to the quarterback in 2026.
A tough task for the Bills defense
The Bills’ defense will already be facing a litany of challenges, but facing offensive lines this good will only add to the pressure. For some of the younger players, it will be the kind of “out of the pan, into the fire” season that makes or breaks careers. How the Bills fare in the coming season will depend a great deal on their ability to compromise these great lines and put pressure on the opposing offense.
