After turning the ball over twice during the Bills' loss to the New England Patriots last week, will Josh Allen be able to bounce back and put together a good game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6? We sure hope so.
Allen does generally perform well after losses, and he certainly has the talent. So the short answer is yes. How well will he play against Atlanta? To determine that, let's take a look at the Falcons' defensive stats so far.
Atlanta's defense is allowing the fewest yards-per-game in the NFL this season, giving up just 244 yards on average to opposing offenses. That includes just 135 average yards of passing, the fewest in the NFL.
However, it's worth taking a look at the quarterback's they've played against. Baker Mayfield threw for 167 yards in Week 1, but that included 3 touchdown passes, including the game-winning drive.
After that, they've played against J.J. McCarthy, Bryce Young, and Marcus Mariota. Not exactly the Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks you wouldn't want to face.
Predicting Josh Allen's Week 6 stats for Monday Night Football
Allen will be the best passer to play the Falcons' defense this season, and while he probably is not going to throw for 300 yards, 200 is still definitely on the board. And Buffalo will need to score to keep up with an explosive Falcons offense that scored 34 in their last game against the Commanders.
So, my prediction is that Allen will bounce back. He'll throw for 210 yards, completing 18 of 25 pass attempts, and throw for two touchdowns. He'll also score a touchdown on the ground, rushing for 45 yards.
Atlanta has three interceptions in four games, but they won't grab a pick off of Allen. Allen said after the loss that the offense needed to be less sloppy, and I think he will make good on those words against the Falcons. He does not want to be embarrassed again by another 2-2 team. Allen will clean up the turnovers, and help lead the Bills to a 27-23 win.
