Football fans outside of Bills Mafia have no clue how elite Josh Allen is when it comes playoff time, or when the Bills need a score late in games. PFF has an idea though, ranking him number one with a grade of 92.3 when trailing since 2021. Coming up number two was Joe Burrow at 90.9, followed by Patrick Mahomes at 88.7. There have been countless times in the last few years that Allen has led the Bills down the field to take a lead, only to see that lead lost when the clock hits zero.
With so many new faces in the receiving corps this season, and no Stefon Diggs, this could be a career-defining season for Allen. Despite having helped other receivers like John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Diggs enjoy career seasons, fans and media still doubt what Allen can do this year. The Bills wide receiver room might be the best we've seen because top to bottom, Allen hasn't had this kind of collective talent to work with. Stefon Diggs might be the best receiver over the last four years in Buffalo, but others struggled to find consistency after him. Now without Diggs on the roster, Allen can spread the ball around, and attack mismatches.
Will Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills continue to be a top offense in 2024?
In 2024, the Bills' passing game is expected to center on Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid, while Curtis Samuel and rookie Keon Coleman will also contribute significantly. Add in the potential of Chase Claypool, and the field stretching abilities of MVS and KJ Hamler, and Allen might have his best statistical season yet. Allen has proven he's elite and can raise the play of those around him. Who will be the beneficiary of this in 2024? That's a question for another day, but for now, rest assured that Allen will have another outstanding season and will continue to be one of the best in the league, despite the changes.
