2.) Buffalo Bills (5-3) - win vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-18

After their loss in Gillette stadium to the New England Patriots, the Bills were back at home on a short week for a Thursday night battle with Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Buffalo managed to get the Bucs to punt on their first drive, and Josh Allen was able to get the offense going early in the game.

After taking an early 3-0 lead, Allen ran it himself in the second quarter to put the Bills up 10-0. Tampa Bay managed to tie the ball game up at 10 before the Bills went back up on the board with tight end Dalton Kincaid’s first career touchdown before the end of the first half.

While the Bills would not give up the lead after the Kincaid touchdown, they allowed the Bucs to get back in the game after Mayfield threw a 24 yard touchdown pass to Mike Evans, as well as converting the two-point conversion to bring the Bucs within six.

After stopping the Bills’ offense late in the fourth, there was a sign of life for the Bucs as they would end the game with the ball in their hands. It took a miraculous hail mary to try and get the walk-off win, but receiver Chris Godwin turned his head just a second late and was not able to bring in the catch, giving the Bills a 24-18 win.

The Buffalo offense performed at a higher level than they have the last few weeks, but it still came down to the end of the game for the Bills to get the win. Going into Week 9 at 5-3, the Bills now face their next biggest test in Cincinnati on Sunday night football.
