4. Offensive Guard

In a few short months, the offensive guard position for the Buffalo Bills went from a concern to one of the deepest positions on the roster. The Buffalo Bills had Rodger Saffold and Ryan Bates as their starters last year and the production or protection just wasn't there.

The Bills made it a point to add to the position, both through free agency and the NFL Draft, to improve the position. They would sign Connor McGovern early in free agency and the former Dallas Cowboys guard is expected to be one of the starters.

The other position appears up for grabs and there are a number of players who have a good chance to win the training camp battle. The team still has last year's starter Ryan Bates under contract but as mentioned, he will need to improve to hold onto the spot.

He will be competing with David Edwards, a veteran free agent addition who previously played with the Los Angeles Rams, and second round draft pick O'Cyrus Torrence.

The final player is Ike Boettger, who was a starter back in 2021 before suffering a torn Achilles. At this point, he is probably competing for just a roster spot but when Boettger is the fifth offensive guard on the roster it shows just how deep the position is.
