Outside of the NFL season itself, draft season is most fans favorite time of the NFL calendar. It's a time when we produce mock drafts, speculate on who's the best of the bunch and who are the busts. We sit in front of the television and listen to Mel Kiper Jr. tell us all about his big board. We surf the internet looking for any nugget about our favorite player coming into the draft.

If you ask Bills fans who their favorites are, you'll get names like Florida State wide receiver Keon Coleman or LSU's wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr and South Carolina's receiver Xavier Legette. Of course, these are the only wide receiver names you'll hear from the fans but they are split on who their favorite is as much as the fans are split on Coach Sean McDermott. The Buffalo Bills have a few other positional needs as well such as safety and defensive line, more specifically defensive interior.

So, with everyone's excited anticipation for the NFL Combine, I've also heard this event referred to as the Underwear Olympics, fans will be glued to their computer screen, TV screen and phones waiting for those incredible 40-times and outrageous bench press numbers. Every year, there are a few names that pop up that no one expected and suddenly they begin climbing up scouts, draft analysts, and fan's draft boards. Who will it be this year? We'll find out soon enough, as the players will take to the field this week at the NFL Combine, beginning Thursday, February 29th. Here is the breakdown of the positional schedule, as well as a few names to keep an eye on throughout the week.

Key positions for the Buffalo Bills

You could make an argument for why the Buffalo Bills might want to look at the future of the tight end position beyond the 2024 season, and maybe they grab that guy now. Doubtful but you never know. The same can be said of the offensive tackle position or maybe the Bills want to try to further upgrade the interior of the offensive line. Maybe Buffalo feels like they are set at corner as well, but Dane Jackson is a pending free agent, so they might be looking to add more depth for the 2024 season.

The Bills' primary positions of need are mostly on the defensive side but wide receiver is a priority, as is defensive interior, linebackers, and safety. I could also see corner being needed if the team cannot re-sign Jackson and wants to move someone from corner to safety. This offseason is important for the Buffalo Bills and starts this week. Buffalo will need to lean on a few rookies as potential starters and depth, and the NFL Combine is just the beginning.
