Buffalo Bills players facing pivotal offseason: Tyrel Dodson, LB
The Bills started out this offseason by losing starting linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to the Chicago Bears via free agency. It only made sense that the team was going to be able to bring back just one of Edmunds or Jorday Poyer.
So, without Edmunds in Buffalo, it appeared as though maybe Tyrel Dodson would take over that position. Buffalo re-signed the veteran before drafting Dorian Williams in the third round this year, and now he might have some competition.
Williams was a high pick, and a valuable pick, due to the Bills going into the draft with just six selections. Dodson, now, is going to have to prove himself over the summer. Williams is an exciting, productive player coming out of college. Dodson, meanwhile, knows the scheme and has an upper hand in that sense.
If he wants to either start this season or guarantee him a longer career with the Bills, or in the NFL in general, Dodson needs to have a strong summer.
