2.) Interior pressure, contain the outside of the pocket

Much like Allen, Patrick Mahomes can extend the play with his legs as well. While he may not be the athletic freak that Allen is, he knows when to run it himself and when to throw it away.

He can maneuver in and out of the pocket to avoid the pressure which makes it hard for him to be brought down. On the interior defensive line for the Bills, Ed Oliver and DaQuan Jones will need to bring interior pressure and the edge rushers in Leonard Floyd, Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa will need to be ready for Mahomes to scramble out of the pressure whether it is in or out of the pocket.

Not letting Mahomes escape the pressure will cause the Chiefs’ passing offense to be contained and not as effective. Take away Mahomes, don’t let him do what we all know he can do, and ultimately just frustrate him. Getting to him will cause frustration and it will build momentum for the Buffalo defense.
