4.) Offensive lineman - David Edwards

Edwards signed with the Bills this offseason, coming over from the Los Angeles Rams. Edwards only played in four games last season as he was having injury issues with concussions he sustained. The Bills want to make sure that their franchise quarterback is protected and not taking hits inside the pocket.

Edwards has been healthy for the most part of his career except for last season. The Bills brought in five notable new offensive linemen who had a shot to make the 53-man roster, which includes Edwards. At the guard position, the Bills signed Connor McGovern from free agency and drafted arguably the best guard in the draft, O’Cyrus Torrence from the University of Florida. As of now, McGovern would likely take the left guard position but the right guard position could be up for grabs.

Edwards may have a shot to earn a starting spot, but he will have some competition ahead of him against Ryan Bates, who has been with the Bills since 2019 and can play multiple positions in the trenches. Along with Bates, Torrence was a second round pick this past NFL draft who did not give up a single sack in college.

This will be an interesting battle up front, but Edwards could be at a disadvantage because he will have to go up against a tenured Bills player as well as a rookie who was just drafted by the Bills.
