3 Buffalo Bills players who should still be cut despite cap rise
The Buffalo Bills got good news Friday when the NFL announced that the salary cap for the upcoming season would be just over $255 million. This means the Bills won't have to cut as much as they were expecting to be in compliance by the start of the new league year in mid-March.
While this should be good news for some players who might have been released to create cap space, there are still a few players who might not be as lucky. When looking at the Bills roster, these are three players that probably should still be cut this offseason.

Sam Martin
The Buffalo Bills re-signed Sam Martin last offseason to a three-year contract worth $6 million but they structured the contract in a way that they have a potential out this offseason. They could release Martin and save about $1.25 million while generating only $800,000 dead cap.
It isn't huge savings but Martin does have the 12th highest cap hit among punters and the Buffalo Bills may not be in a position to pay up at a position like that. This past season wasn't bad by any means but there was a slight decrease in yards per punt from 47.7 to 45.8.
At 34 years old, it could be a sign that Martin is on the decline and the Buffalo Bills may look to use one of their later draft picks for the position.
