On Friday, the NFL announced the salary cap for the upcoming season at $255.4 million, which is $30 million more than last season. This is good news for the Buffalo Bills as they were expected to be well over the salary cap but the additional cap space will be a big help.

The Bills are still going to have some work to do as they are still projected to be around $41 million over the salary cap. General manager Brandon Beane has plenty of options at his disposal, including restructuring contracts or negotating contract extensions to lower the cap hit for the 2024 season.

The third option would be to release players as this can create cap space but in some instances creates dead cap and more importantly means that the player is no longer on the roster. The salary cap bump means the Buffalo Bills won't have to trim as much salary and these three players could be spared due to significant salary cap increases.
