Boogie Basham

Boogie Basham is sometimes forgotten among the defensive ends on the Buffalo Bills roster when the team has players like Von Miller and Greg Rousseau. However, on Saturday he made his presence known as he helped start the play of the game for the Buffalo Bills.

While Terrel Bernard will get most of the accolades for his 69-yard fumble return for a touchdown, the play started because of Boogie Basham. The former second round pick sacked Nick Foles and knocked the ball loose on the play, which Bernard was able to scoop up and return for the team’s first touchdown.

Last year, Basham wasn’t a player that consistently saw the field but did become a bigger part of this defense towards the end of the year and into the playoffs. However, the Bills were excited about Basham earlier in the offseason and that excitement seemed justified on Saturday.

The Bills are going to be rotating defensive ends frequently and Basham should be a bigger part of that rotation this year.
