The Buffalo Bills have been without Jordan Poyer for over a week now after he suffered an elbow injury in training camp. The player that has stepped up in his role has been Jaquan Johnson, who once again made a big play when replacing Poyer.

In the game against the Colts, Johnson was in the right place on an overthrow from Nick Foles that he was able to intercept. He not only made the catch but then was able to get upfield and return it 32 yards.

In the last game that Johnson got a chance to start, in Week 4 last year against the Houston Texans, he also had an interception. While the preseason is different and Johnson didn’t play the full game, the coaching staff should be at the point where Johnson could fill in at safety if the need were to arise during the regular season.
