5 players the Buffalo Bills should look to trade before the regular season
Duke Johnson
The Buffalo Bills signed running back Duke Johnson earlier this offseason after the contract with J.D. McKissic wasn’t completed as McKissic decided to return to Washington.
Duke Johnson is a veteran running back that during his time in the NFL with the Browns, Texans and recently the Dolphins has shown to be a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield. He would have 44 or more receptions in each of his first five years in the NFL.
However, late last year with the Miami Dolphins also showed he can be an effective running back on the ground with two 100-yard rushing games in the final four weeks.
He seemed like he could be a great fit for the Buffalo Bills and this offense. That changed though once they drafted James Cook and he doesn’t have much of a role and the Bills likely don’t have a spot on the roster for him.
The Bills signed Johnson to a one-year deal for $1.28 million so if a team were to trade for him, they would not be taking on a big contract. He could fill a need for a team looking for a veteran at the position or a player that contributes to the passing game.
