Buffalo Bills player No. 4: James Cook, HB (Rookie)

In the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills selected James Cook out of Georgia to add to their uncertain backfield.

With a quarterback like Josh Allen under center, there’s not as much of a need for a rushing attack as there is with teams that don’t have Josh Allen.

And considering the Bills are a pass-first team offensively, drafting James Cook was a great addition to the Bills’ offense.

James Cook isn’t a runner that will likely run between the tackles three plays in a row, rather, his ability to be a pass-catching back is what makes him such an intriguing prospect in fantasy.

In PPR leagues, James Cook has even more appeal. There’s the likelihood that James Cook sees a decent share of touches in his rookie season. Beating out Devin Singletary and Zack Moss isn’t an impossible task.

And in all honesty, the Bills drafting a running back in the second round shows that maybe they’re not set on the two of them spearheading the running attack.

Cook’s ADP is another intriguing factor in drafting him. Per FantasyPros, James Cook is the RB47 and has an ADP of 114.

And, while Cook has value in re-draft leagues, a lot of the major buyers of James Cook will be in dynasty leagues, where fantasy GMs know they have him for years and years.
