Tavon Austin

Another player who could see their time with the Buffalo Bills be relatively short is one of their more recent free agent signings in wide receiver Tavon Austin. The veteran receiver is on his fourth team in just the past two years after splitting time between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers in 2020 and the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.

While Austin didn’t make the impact many expected on the offensive side of the ball after he was drafted in the Top 10 of the 2013 NFL Draft, he certainly has a path to a roster spot. The Bills don’t have a clear answer for who will return kickoffs and punts this coming season.

Austin has experience in both and certainly could emerge as the starter for either spot. However, if he is not able to win the starting job, it would be surprising that the Buffalo Bills keep him on the roster as a wide receiver with the depth the team has at that position.
