Christian Benford and Luke Tenuta

The Buffalo Bills have one of the best rosters in the NFL and this means that earning a roster spot is tough. In the past, it was almost guaranteed that draft picks with the Bills would be on the 53-man roster.

However, that hasn’t been the case recently and last year the Bills released two draft picks from the 2021 NFL Draft, Rachaad Wildgoose, and Jack Anderson, before the season. They would bring back both on the practice squad but both players would play elsewhere as they were signed off the practice squad by other teams.

The Buffalo Bills may not have enough spots for all their draft picks again this year and two players who may be released in the final roster cuts are cornerback Christian Benford and offensive lineman Luke Tenuta.

For Tenuta, the competition on the offensive line is going to be tough and there is a lot of talent. The Bills may not have room for a player who appears to be more of a developmental prospect.

As for Benford, the depth at cornerback isn’t as strong so he certainly could earn a spot on the 53-man roster. However, he struggled last week during OTAs according to Matt Parrino with syracuse.com and the jump from college to NFL has been tough for Benford.

If he continues to struggle, he likely would be another candidate to be released and hopefully brought back as a member of the practice squad.
