Another player who has experience with Ken Dorsey and Joe Brady is tight end Ian Thomas. He was a fourth round pick in 2018 by the Panthers and played four seasons with Carolina. In that stretch, Thomas would have 90 receptions, 802 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

These are not necessarily great stats but the Buffalo Bills already have an excellent pass-catching tight end in Dawson Knox, who had a breakout season last year. They wouldn’t necessarily be looking for another tight end to fill that role.

The reason this is a move that could make sense is that Thomas is a good run-blocking tight end. He could be a great fit as a number two tight end behind Knox that could compete with Tommy Sweeney for that spot in this offense.
