Cam Newton

The idea of the Buffalo Bills adding Cam Newton is not something new and has been discussed at times when the former MVP has been available. The Buffalo Bills have never made the move, potentially to ensure that no questions were raised about their commitment to Josh Allen.

Now that Allen is unquestionably the franchise quarterback and a Top 3 one at that, it is important for the organization to have a capable backup behind him if the need were ever to arise. Last year, Buffalo had Mitchell Trubisky and while they likely would want him back, he should generate plenty of interest this offseason that might not make that possible.

After the season, Cam Newton talked about what he might be looking for moving forward and said he was willing to accept a backup role as long as it is with a winning franchise. That is certainly what Buffalo has become and adding a veteran like Newton, who has experience with both Ken Dorsey and Joe Brady would make sense.
