Buffalo Bills have the best defense in the NFL

I understand this is the Houston Texans and a team that doesn’t necessarily have the most potent offense. I also understand that they were starting a third round rookie at quarterback who was making his first road start of his career.

However, even with those disclaimers, the Buffalo Bills can claim they have the best defense currently in the NFL.

In past seasons, the Buffalo Bills have typically seemed to have a ‘bend but don’t break’ mentality but this year is different as they aren’t even really letting offenses do much of anything against them. The defense has shown an ability to get off the quarterback (they had three sacks in Week 4) and is capitalizing on mistakes by opposing quarterbacks (they had four interceptions in Week 4).

On Sunday, the Texans barely got above 100 total yards, averaged only 2.6 yards per play and ran only seven plays all game inside the Buffalo Bills end of the field (four of which came after the interception of Josh Allen).

Through four games, the Bills defense has given up only four touchdowns when on the field which is a remarkable stat. They certainly will have a big test in front of them next Sunday but after what they have shown through four games, they are certainly up to the task.
