Spencer Brown needs to be the starting right tackle moving forward

On Friday, everyone knew that the Buffalo Bills would have at least one new starter on their offensive line with Jon Feliciano ruled out with a concussion. However, it was a bit surprising that the coaching staff elected to make more changes than just at guard.

The Bills shuffled the offensive line for this game by inserting Ike Boettger in at left guard in place of Feliciano but then sliding Daryl Williams inside to right guard which gave rookie Spencer Brown his first chance to start in the NFL.

The former third round pick was considered an offensive lineman who had incredible physical gifts entering the NFL Draft but needed some time to develop before he could contribute. Well after the performance on Sunday, there is no question that time is now.

Sean McDermott was asked about this after the game and said the change wasn’t so much a reflection of Cody Ford but rather an opportunity to improve the team, according to Matt Parrino’s tweet.

It remains to be seen if this is the offensive line the Buffalo Bills will continue to use moving forward but after Sunday’s performance, it will be hard to keep Brown out of the starting lineup.
