Buffalo Bills: Ranking the best WR duos in franchise history
1. Andre Reed/James Lofton (1989-1992)
The best wide receiver duo in Buffalo Bills history has to be Andre Reed and James Lofton, who played four seasons together from 1989 and 1992. While Lofton was 33 years old when he joined the Bills, he was still an excellent deep threat and in four seasons with the Bills averaged 18.1 yards per reception.
These two players were key parts of the Bills ‘K-Gun’ and were a part of the team’s first three trips to the Super Bowl. After the 1989 season, Lofton was primarily a starter opposite Andre Reed and would finish each season with over 700 receiving yards and 18 total touchdowns. The best season was in 1991 with 1,072 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
That season both Lofton and Andre Reed would make the Pro Bowl as Reed added 1,113 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Both players have also gone on to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and will go down as the best wide receiver duo in Buffalo Bills history.
