Buffalo Bills: Ranking the best WR duos in franchise history

2. Eric Moulds/Peerless Price (1999-2002)

For the third time in these rankings, Eric Moulds makes an appearance and while he was the rookie with Andre Reed and the veteran with Lee Evans, he was in the prime of his career with Peerless Price, who also entered the prime of his career at the same time.

Price was a second round pick in 1999 but didn’t become a full-time starter until 2000 and in the next three seasons would have at least 750 receiving yards with 19 total touchdowns during that stretch. In 2002, he had a career year with 1,252 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

The 2002 season, in particular, was special and the Bills had one of their best passing offenses in franchise history that year. This was Drew Bledsoe’s first season with the Bills and he threw for 4,395 receiving yards, which was the single season record until this past season when Josh Allen threw for over 4,500.

Unlike this past season when Allen did move the ball around, 54% of all targets went to Moulds and Price. Both receivers surpassed 1,200 receiving yards with Moulds setting the franchise record (at the time) with 100 receptions and Price not far behind at 94.

That would be the final season together for these two as the Bills placed the franchise tag on Peerless Price that offseason but would ultimately end up trading him to the Atlanta Falcons.
