Buffalo Bills: The best players to wear 26-30
The Best Buffalo Bills player to wear #28: C.J. Spiller
A rare second appearance on our series list, C.J. Spiller finally breaks through and claims his top spot. Spiller lost his spot to Willis McGahee for the #21 jersey by a hair. Spiller totaled over 3,000 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns in his 5 years with the team. Although one can argue that this number may belong to Greg Bell.
In 1984, Bell became the team’s first-round draft pick. Bell wasted no time at all, having a breakout rookie campaign that featured 1100 yards rushing and 7 touchdowns. One of those went for a career-long 85 yards. He’d have 2400+ yards and 19 touchdowns, way more scores than Spiller had.
Bell wouldn’t top this mark again in Buffalo, coming up just short by a few hundred yards in 1986. Over his final two seasons with the team, he only played in 10 out of 32 possible games. Bell would go on to for the L.A. Rams and Raiders before leaving the NFL after the 1990 season.
