Buffalo Bills: Julio Jones and other players to watch starting after June 1st
Other Free Agents Still Available
Typically at this point of the offseason all the top free agents know where they are going to be playing this coming season. However, there are three players that are still available that could make sense for the Buffalo Bills to pursue.
The first is cornerback Steven Nelson, who the Bills were reportedly one of a number of teams interested in the free agent. Nelson has been a starting cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers the past two seasons and at 28 years old could still be in the prime of his career.
Another cornerback the Buffalo Bills may be interested in targeting is Richard Sherman, who recently was with the San Francisco 49ers. He isn’t necessarily playing at the level he was during his time with the Seahawks but could be a good veteran addition to this secondary. This could also make sense for Sherman as he would be joining a team with Super Bowl aspirations that could give him one more chance at a ring.
The final player is defensive tackle Kawann Short, who was released by the Carolina Panthers this offseason. Head coach Sean McDermott and defensive line coach Eric Washington know Short well from their time with the Panthers and Short knows this defense well.
While the Buffalo Bills have good depth at the position, a veteran like Short to put behind Ed Oliver could be a big boost for this defensive line.
