Buffalo Bills: 4 Positions of concern following the 2021 NFL Draft
Center
Going into the 2021 NFL Draft, there was a lot of speculation that Oklahoma’s Creed Humphrey would be selected by the Buffalo Bills. This speculation circulated the franchise due to, large in part, the fact that their current center, Mitch Morse, has had a long battle with concussions.
Morse has had his NFL career plagued by head injuries. Coming off another documented concussion and his second with the Buffalo Bills, it is fair to question whether Morse will be in the picture long-term. This is not because he simply cannot play the position, but rather the team looking out for his health post-football.
At 29 years of age, Morse should still have years of football left, but with that many concussions, it is hard to say if he will get those years. As a result, the Bills may need to start the search for a new center.
One option that may help keep continuity in the Bills offense should they need to satisfy the need for a center is in-house: Joh Feliciano.
Felciano took snaps at center last season when Morse was sidelined. Feliciano, who is one of the team’s more vocal offensive lineman, showed promise at the position. His relationship with Josh Allen is one that was documented to being extremely strong when the guard stood up for him in the ACF Championship.
Should the team have to part ways with Morse, Felciano could be a seamless replacement at the position.
