3. Defensive Tackle

The next position need is in the trenches at defensive tackle but specifically a one-tech defensive tackle. These are the tackles that anchor the defensive line, clog running lanes and command multiple blockers that allow linebackers to flow freely to the ball carrier.

Last year, the Buffalo Bills didn’t have their starter Star Lotulelei as he opted out of the season due to the pandemic. Lotulelei is a perfect example of a player’s impact that can’t be measured by the stats or the box score. He is a player that is tremendous against the run because he not only anchors down but helps make the players around him better.

While the Bills are getting Lotulelei back this year, he is getting towards the end of his career and the team should be looking for his eventual replacement. However, depending on who they draft this may not be a player who makes an impact after Lotulelei leaves. The Buffalo Bills like to rotate their defensive linemen through frequently so a player who can split the work with Lotulelei will be a big boost for this team.
