Buffalo Bills: Predicting the final score for Week 15 against the Broncos
Find out if the Buffalo Bills will extend their win streak in Denver today.
Coming off of back to back wins on the prime time stage, the Buffalo Bills look to continue their hot streak in Week 15 as they travel to Denver to play the Broncos. The Bills played the Broncos last year and handled them comfortably, but they were without their starting quarterback Drew Lock in that matchup. This time around, the Bills will be facing the Broncos with Lock under center and just one week after the best game of his career.
With that being said, the Bills are beginning to peak at the right moment heading into the waning moment of the regular season. This 2020 Buffalo defense is finally finding their stride and getting back to their 2019 form, evidently shown to the national crowd by their impressive victories over the 49ers and the Steelers.
However, the Bills cannot get too confident and overlook the Denver Broncos here in Week 15. Yes, this Broncos team is ranked dead last in the league on offense, but they will not go down without a fight. The issue for this Broncos offense is youth and inconsistency, they have plenty of talent, but many of their young stars are still developing.
When looking at the Week 15 injury reports, it is clear that the Bills will be going into this game with the advantage in this department. The Bufalo Bills have already ruled Jaquan Johnson out for his second straight game, but besides the special teams’ contributor, Lee Smith is the only other player whose availability is in question.
Tremaine Edmunds was on the injury report with a foot injury but managed to get a full practice in before the week’s end. He will be available for this Week 15 matchup, but it will be interesting to see if this injury impacts his play at all because Edmunds has been playing great as of late.
Additionally, it seems that the Bills nickel corner Taron Johnson will be available for this game as he has sped through concussion protocol this week after suffering the concussion just last week against the Steelers.
As for the Broncos, their injury report is much more crowded with plenty of notable players included on the list. Most significantly, both Denver running backs Phillip Lindsay and Melvin Gordon are listed as questionable going into Week 15 against the Bills.
Additionally, the Broncos may be without starting offensive guard Graham Glasgow who is also questionable with a foot injury. These three injuries certainly play into the Bills’ favor as the perceived weakness of the Buffalo Bills defense is slowing down the run. Although these three players have injury designations heading into this game, there are plenty of other significant Broncos players that will be available for this game but will be playing dinged up.
Furthermore, and perhaps most impactful, the Broncos will be going into this game decimated at the cornerback position. They have had multiple starters injured at cornerback this season and it has forced them to prove they have depth at this position. Ultimately, I believe this will be the downfall of the Broncos in Week 15. Even without John Brown, Josh Allen and the Bills passing attack will put too much stress on this Broncos secondary.
My final score prediction for Week 15 against the Broncos is for the Bills to win 31-23. If the Bills can achieve all three keys to victory this week, their margin of victory could be even greater. This dinged up Broncos running game should lend itself to a much easier path to victory for the Bills this week.
Although the Broncos offense is ranked last in the league, they still have plenty of talent and the Bills defense is bound to make a few mistakes throughout the course of this game. However, I think Allen and the passing game will be too much for this depleted Broncos secondary in Week 15.
Hopefully, advancing the Buffalo Bills to 11-3 before preparing for game two against the New England Patriots.
