Buffalo Bills: Midseason team awards for first half of 2020 season
Rookie of the Year: Tyler Bass
The Buffalo Bills rookie class for the most part has been underwhelming. Their second round pick A.J. Epenesa has struggled to find a role while Zack Moss missed time this year with a toe injury, but did have a breakout game against the New England Patriots in Week 8.
The one player that has contributed the most and on a consistent basis is kicker Tyler Bass. The Bills sixth round pick won the starting job in training camp from veteran Stephen Hauschka. He started the year a bit shaky by going two of four on field goal attempts in Week 1.
However, as the year has gone on he has gained confidence and has started to look more comfortable. In Week 7, he tied the franchise record with six made field goals and set the franchise record with eight. He would end up accounting for every point scored by the Bills in that game.
While he has had some rough spots, the Buffalo Bills should feel good about who their placekicker is and should solidify the position for at least the next few years.
