Buffalo Bills: Position grades from Week 4 against Las Vegas Raiders

Tight End

Even though Dawson Knox returned from the concussion that held him out of Week 3, it was Tyler Kroft that seemed to be on the field more. The two combined for three receptions for 28 yards on six targets.

This likely what the Buffalo Bills envisioned the position being last year when they signed Tyler Kroft as a free agent and drafted Dawson Knox. While the Bills will see a majority of the work go to their Top 3 receivers (and potentially Top 4 with Gabriel Davis in the mix) this is a good threat to have at tight end with these two.

Offensive Line

The Buffalo Bills were forced to do some shuffling on their offensive line during the course of the game but for the most part, was able to keep the Raiders away from Josh Allen. The team started for the second straight week with Cody Ford at left guard and Brian Winters at right guard while Quinton Spain remained on the bench.

However, Winters was forced to leave due to an injury and it is interesting to note that the team left Ford at left guard and put Spain in at right guard. This is interesting because Spain had been the starting left guard since last season and Ford started the year at right guard. This could signal that Ford is expected to be the long term answer at left guard once Jon Feliciano returns from injury.

While the pass blocking did what it needed to do, the run blocking didn’t perform as well. This is the area that drags the grade down for the offensive line.
