Who wins the starting cornerback job?

While there are a number of position battles, most of the attention is going to be on the starting cornerback job opposite Tre’Davious White. The team still has Levi Wallace, who was their starter last year, but brought in free agent Josh Norman. The Bills coaching staff knows Norman well from their days with the Carolina Panthers but he is coming off down years with Washington.

Recently, defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier talked about this position battle and indicated that Josh Norman has the edge due to his experience. In addition, Frazier seemed to note that Norman has been extra motivated since he wants to prove he is better than what he showed in Washington.

This is really going to be an interesting battle and it wouldn’t be surprising if the Buffalo Bills don’t commit fully to one cornerback coming out of training camp. The Bills could find themselves in a situation similar to what they had towards the end of last season. While Levi Wallace started all 16 games, Kevin Johnson started cutting into his playing time and from Week 11 through the end of the season was playing nearly 50% of the defensive snaps.
