Every team will finish with seven or more wins

Now that the New England Patriots are likely to fall back to the rest of the division, the days of them sweeping their division games or winning five out of six are likely over. This additional wins to the other three teams, will be enough of a boost to get all AFC East teams to at least seven wins this upcoming season.

The last time this happened in the AFC East was in 2008 when the Bills finished last in the division but had a 7-9 record, while the Jets finished 9-7 and the Patriots and Dolphins were tied with 11-5 records but Miami held the tiebreaker. This coincidentally was also the last year that the Patriots didn’t win the division.

While it has been awhile since the last time this happened, the division wasn’t too far off from accomplishing this last year. The Patriots, Bills and Jets all finished with seven or more wins and the Dolphins were not far off with five. The moves the Dolphins made this offseason should be enough to get them two additional wins in 2020.
