Week 13 – Bills edge rushers vs. 49ers OTs

In Week 13 the Buffalo Bills will travel to San Francisco to play the 49ers in their second primetime game of the season and first of two Monday Night Football contests. After winning the NFC last year, the 49ers don’t have a lot of holes on their roster, making this a very intriguing team matchup.

Last year showed just how effective the Kyle Shanahan running attack is and this is why this game will be won in the trenches. Win or lose, this will be a lesson filled experience for A.J. Epenesa going up against arguably the best offensive line he has seen at this point in his NFL career. Whether he lines up on the left or right side of the offense, he will have to attack either Mike McGlinchey or Trent Williams, who was acquired via trade from the Washington Redskins during the 2020 NFL Draft.

The same argument goes for Jerry Hughes, Trent Murphy, Mario Addison, or whoever McDermott/Frazier decide to line up on the edges for this game. Setting the edge against the Shanahan rushing attack is a very important factor in mitigating the efficiency of the outside zone run.
