The focus remains on the Buffalo Bills quarterbacks as we head toward the second preseason game. That and more in today’s Morning Charge.

The Buffalo Bills have position battles going on all over the field.

If you pay close attention, Twitter is filled with updates on all these battles. And by all of them I mean just one. The battle at quarterback.

Football is a team sport and everyone plays their part. That doesn’t mean the focus on the quarterback position will ever go away. Bills fans have been waiting for another Jim Kelly since the legend retired and are still waiting here in 2018.

But it may not be time for Josh Allen to start in Buffalo just yet. Not if Nathan Peterman and AJ McCarron have anything to say about it.

Allen is the quarterback of the future but Peterman seemingly leads the pack right now with McCarron close behind. Then again, they are essentially 1a and 1b after only one preseason game.

The quarterback battle will dominate the headlines until Sean McDermott names a starter for Week 1 of the regular season. Even then, fans will be yelling for the backup if the starter doesn’t win right away. Just the way it goes.

We take a look at the quarterbacks and more in today’s edition of The Morning Charge.

The Allen hype won’t die down until he actually gets to start a regular season game. People are always waiting for the next best thing. Will he be the answer?
