Bills vs. Cardinals Fantasy Football Outlook
By Dennis Moody
The Defenses
The Bills defense is tied for 11th in fantasy points with the New York Giants. I think they will rack up a few sacks this week and put on an inspired performance in the wake of all the turmoil going on with the team.
Considering all the injuries and suspensions the defense has held up pretty well. In Week 1 they had a great performance against the Ravens but the offense was unable to do their part. Against the Jets they struggled but the players that struggled were two of their best in Ronald Darby and Stephon Gilmore.

That’s not likely to repeat itself again although they do have a tough matchup against the Cardinals receivers. The biggest threat to the Bills defense isn’t the Cardinals offense though, it’s the Bills offense.
Buffalo’s inability to move the ball and their lack of time of possession has been a problem for the team. If they continue to struggle to get first downs consistently, the defense will be on the field too much and they will eventually tire out. That’s when Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown, and David Johnson will take over and punish the Bills.
The Cardinals are one of the best teams in the league and are going to prove to be too much for the Bills. Buffalo’s defense is not a good start this week if you can avoid it.
The Cardinals defense through two weeks is the second highest scoring defense in the league. That’s not a surprise as they have many talented players on that side of the ball. This year their defense is tied for 4th in the league giving up an average of 15 points per game. Last year they were ranked the 8th best pass defense and 6th best rushing defense in yards per game.
They are coming off a dominating victory against Tampa Bay where they let up just seven points. They should be able to shut down the Bills receiving corps with their talented secondary which includes Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson. Then they can focus on stacking the box against Shady McCoy thus smothering the Bills offense.
Bills new offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn has a tall task ahead of him in his first game calling plays. The Bills don’t match up well with the Cardinals and it might be a tough day for Buffalo. The Cardinals defense is a definite start if you have them.
