2005: Bills get last say in offensive affair
For the first time in their team’s history, the Buffalo Bills got their win on Christmas Eve and it was in a thriller, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 37-27. Kelly Holcomb rocked the Bengals defense, throwing for 308 yards and a touchdown.
It was Terrence McGee who had the big plays of the day. With the Bengals up 17-13 having just scored, McGee took the ensuing kickoff 99 yards to the house and got Ralph Wilson Stadium rocking again, giving the Bills a 20-17 lead.
Late in the fourth quarter, it was McGee’s turn again, but this time to put the game on ice. Rian Lindell just hit a field goal with under a minute to go to give Buffalo a 30-27 lead. On the Bengals’ next drive, Carson Palmer threw a pick to McGee, who returned it 46 yards to the house to give the Bills their 10-point victory.
