NFL Gambling Tips (From Someone Who Doesn’t Gamble) – Week 4

AUTHOR: | IN: Gambling | COMMENTS: None Yet

Let’s be real: a lot of people love football because it’s the easiest and funnest sport to gamble on. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Personally, I’m too broke to gamble (being a first-year public school teacher isn’t too lucrative), but I sure do watch a lot of football. I figure I should help* my loyal readers out with some gambling advice. Each week I’ll pick four games plus a fifth “Lock of the Week.” *Help not guaranteed to be actually helpful. After my big start in Week 1, I’ve crashed to back to Earth a bit in the two [...]

Bills vs. Bengals – Buffalo’s Five Key Players

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s a team game and all that, but who are the five most important players for Buffalo in the coming week’s game? Each week we’ll take a look in a feature called Five Key Players. After Sunday’s enormous win over the mighty Patriots, the Bills have a different kind of challenge this week in Cincinnati. The young Bengals are going to desperate for a win after last week’s debacle against San Francisco, and you can bet they’ll come ready to play Sunday. Who needs to step up and make sure Buffalo gets out of Cincy 4-0? CB Leodis McKelvin – [...]

Nothing’s Scarier Than a Game the Bills “Should” Win

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

There’s no doubt about it: it’s good to be a Buffalo Bills fan right now. First place in the AFC East…an extremely likable roster of scrappy underdogs…an explosive, entertaining offense…finally beating those freaking Patriots. Who could ask for anything more? I should be riding high right now, but I’m really not. The reason? I am TERRIFIED for Sunday’s game in Cincinnati against the Bengals. That may seem silly. After all, there’s a mountain of reasons the Bills should win this game…but I’m scared about all of them: 1) The Bills haven’t lost to the Bengals since 1989. Really! Buffalo lost [...]

Who Gets the Week 3 Game Ball After Buffalo’s Shocking Win Over New England?

AUTHOR: | IN: BLD Polls | COMMENTS: None Yet

Another Bills victory means we need to award another game ball to Buffalo’s MVP of the game. Last week voters here at BLD selected RB Fred Jackson for the honor, and he’ll be a candidate again this week. A ton of players worthy of praise after Buffalo’s huge Week 3 win over New England, but only one can get our game ball for the week. Here are the candidates: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (27 for 40 passing, 369 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT) – Fitz shook off two early interceptions (one not his fault, one on fourth-and-14) to play another masterful game. He’s [...]

Bills Upset Patriots; First in AFC East

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

In my post yesterday, I stated the Bills cannot afford to fall behind early against the Patriots and that’s exactly what they did today. But, and that’s a big but, the Bills came back without any quit in them. Fitz was firing on all targets. He’s a gunslinger and that is what this team needs. The Bills receivers are coming up big. Stevie Johnson had a great game. Last week, David Nelson came up big, today it was Donald Jones. TE Scott Chandler is another one of Fitz’s targets and caught another touchdown pass. Without a doubt, Freddie Jackson is [...]

Bills Storm Back to Beat Patriots 34-31

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Can you believe it? The much anticipated showdown between the Patriots and the Bills started as you might have expected: with the Pats totally dominating.  Halfway through the second quarter, the Bills were down 21-0 and Tom Brady was doing whatever he wanted. It was looking like another Pats-Bills blowout. Then it started. Stevie Johnson caught a touchdown to make it 21-7. After a Brady interception, the Bills marched right down the field to kick a field goal to make in 21-10 at the half. Despair set in again after the Bills went 3-and-out right after halftime…but then Leodis McKelvin [...]
