The Buffalo Bills will look to bounce back and end their regular season on a strong finish before they hit the road for the playoffs. For the last couple of games, the Bills have had to be careful with Josh Allen who has been dealing with a foot injury. Last Sunday against the Eagles, fans could really tell that Allen wasn’t playing like his normal self.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Allen did not practice, per the Bills’ injury report on Thursday, but Sean McDermott provided some encouraging news about Allen and the foot injury. According to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, McDermott said that Allen would be limited for Friday’s practice and that Allen is “good to go” for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

Per Getzenberg, McDermott also said that the Bills will be without DT DaQuan Jones, LB Terrel Bernard, and S Jordan Poyer on Sunday, all who are dealing with injuries.

Bills will have Josh Allen for Week 18 (but it shouldn't be for long)

With this update from McDermott, it looks like Allen’s starting streak will stay alive. However, just like last year’s Week 18 game against the Patriots, it should only be for one play and then Buffalo should get Mitch Trubisky under center for the rest of the game.

While Buffalo can still potentially be higher than the 7-seed with a win, it’s not worth keeping Allen in the game and risking further injury to the foot. The Bills will need Allen throughout the playoffs if they want any shot at making a deep run for the Super Bowl.

The last thing that Buffalo needs is Allen not being at 100% for the Wild Card round all because they kept him on the field against the Jets, who have been arguably the worst team in the league from start to finish.
