After battling it out with the Jacksonville Jaguars and getting the huge win against them on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills are now on a short week before they travel to Denver to take on the 1-seeded Broncos. These two teams last met in the Wild Card round last season in Buffalo, where the Bills scored 31 unanswered points to beat the Broncos, 31-7.

Buffalo was the 2-seed while Denver was the 1-seed. Now, it’s the opposite of Denver being the better seed and they will be looking for revenge.

Buffalo has a very limited amount of time to prepare while Denver has the advantage of being at home and having the first-round bye week for finishing as the top team in the AFC. However, you could make the argument that Buffalo is the worst matchup that Denver could have had for their first game in the playoffs. It could easily be their last.

Ahead of Saturday’s battle between these two teams, Sean McDermott spoke with the media and talked about Denver, and gave some credit to Sean Payton. In addition, McDermott said that “we’re going to have to play better than we did this weekend” per Sal Capaccio.

Sean McDermott issues challenge that Bills must respond to

The Bills didn’t play perfectly against Jacksonville. They did what they needed to do, but there were a few times in the game where it seemed like Buffalo could have lost their momentum in the game.

Denver is not the most dominant 1-seed team that we have seen, but they are the top team for a reason. At the end of the day, every advantage is on their side when it comes to the set up of the game.

Buffalo has to be able to come out swinging against Denver and set the tone. If they start off slow and allow Bo Nix to get into rhythm early on and not let up, it could be a very long Saturday for the Bills and the fans.
