Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles left a sour taste with the Buffalo Bills as they failed to make a comeback to win. After being down 13-0 going into the fourth quarter, the Bills scored two touchdowns, including one with just five seconds left in regulation. Instead of tying it with a PAT, Buffalo opted to go for two and get the win.
Josh Allen dropped back in the pocket and launched it to a wide open Khalil Shakir, but the throw was off point which gave the Eagles the 13-12 win in Orchard Park. Since the Bills lost that game, they gave the AFC East to the Patriots and will now be hitting the road in the playoffs.
Now that Buffalo is officially a wild card team going into the playoffs, it does cause some concern for fans. Former Bills head coach Rex Ryan, who is now on “Get Up” talked about whether or not the Bills could get out of the AFC as a wild card team.
Rex Ryan says the harsh truth about Bills' chances going into playoffs
When asked that question, Ryan responded “I think winning the three games on the road is so hard to do.” Ryan ultimately said he doesn’t believe that the Bills will make it out of the AFC because of them being a wild card team.

Ryan also mentioned that the “next road game that Josh Allen wins in the playoffs, will be his first.”
The Bills are going into territory that they haven’t been in since the 2019 season; going on the road in the first round of the playoffs. The last time they did, they lost a thriller against the Houston Texans. Since then, the Bills have won the AFC East which gave them a home playoff game in the wild card round.
Now, depending on where Buffalo lands in the wild card seeding, maybe there’s a chance that they could somehow host a playoff game but they would need to be atleast the 6th seed, and hope that certain game outcomes happen. However, the Bills should be planning on going on the road each round in the playoffs.
Since 2020, all of Buffalo’s road playoff losses have come at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs. With the Chiefs not being in the playoffs, maybe that gives Buffalo a big advantage. At the same time, going into an environment that is not your own is tough.
