Even with the NFL Draft being about two weeks over, people are still dissecting the draft picks that their favorite teams made and there are even 2027 mock drafts being thrown out there. It’s completely normal to do as football fans because we know that it never stops.

When it comes to the Buffalo Bills, there have been mixed reviews about their draft class. Some good, some not so good. One thing we do know is they addressed various positions of need and managed to bring in some great talent. Brandon Beane did a great job on Day 3 after making multiple trade-downs.

Believe it or not, the Bills actually took care of a lot of positions so that when they go into next year’s NFL Draft, they shouldn’t have as many needs as they did this offseason. It was stressful going into the draft this year, but hopefully next year won’t be the same story.

One of the biggest storylines that the Bills created was trading up back into the second round to select CB Davison Igbinosun out of Ohio State. This pick caused a good amount of confusion because Buffalo already had Christian Benford, Maxwell Hairston, and newly signed Dee Alford.

Drafting Igbinosun wasn’t the issue, it was trading up for him and Bills fans definitely had the right to be confused and even a little angry. However, Buffalo’s secondary needs a player like Igbinosun who is not afraid to get up in front of a receiver and throw a wrench into his route.

You would think that now with deeper depth at cornerback, Buffalo would be all set moving forward but Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports put together an early 2027 mock draft that says something different.

Latest 2027 mock draft brings confusion to Bills Mafia

In Wilson’s 2027 mock draft, the Bills spent their first round pick on Alabama cornerback Zabien Brown. While Brown has established himself as a ballhawk corner, the Bills selecting him in the first round simply doesn’t make sense.

"A physically imposing cornerback who consistently puts himself in a position to make plays at the catch point, Brown's ability to mirror receivers in man or react in off-coverage makes him a highly reliable presence in the secondary." said Wilson.

After Day 2 of this year’s draft, the media and fans wanted to know why Brandon Beane went up and got Igbinosun despite them having other major needs. Beane’s explanation about getting Igbinosun made sense once he talked about how the position was a premium. For so long, Buffalo’s secondary has had injuries and inconsistency in crucial moments.

Along with Igbinosun, the Bills also drafted Toriano Pride Jr. in the 7th round to bring in more depth at the position. Moving forward, the Bills should be set at cornerback but adding depth doesn’t hurt. Using a first round pick on a cornerback in next year’s draft just simply doesn’t make sense when Buffalo is going to have other potential needs on the offensive line or even wide receiver (again).
