The NFL Draft concluded a week ago today and the Buffalo Bills had themselves a solid draft where they brought in ten players, and some of them have the potential to make an impact right away. Going into the draft, the Bills had a ton of needs to address, even with the free agent signings that they made on defense.
With the draft being over, the second wave of free agency is set to happen and there are still plenty of players who can provide a great impact to an organization. The Bills should be considering going after more defensive help to keep boosting up that side of the ball.
As far as the second wave of free agency, there are still plenty of current Bills free agents who are available on the free agent market. Some of them are surprising, some were expected. With that, we have an updated prediction list for notable Bills free agents and where they may land prior to the 2026 season.
Predicting where current Bills free agents will land with NFL Draft officially over
LB Matt Milano: Miami Dolphins
For any Bills fans that loved seeing Matt Milano on Bills blue, this would be devastating. However, Milano is from the state of Florida and he knows the AFC East very well. Not to mention, the Dolphins drafted Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez who has a very similar playstyle to Milano. Bringing in Milano to be a mentor for Rodriguez would not be a bad idea on the Dolphins’ end.
EDGE Joey Bosa: San Francisco 49ers
I mean, it’s bound to happen, right? The 49ers not only need more depth coming off the edge, but bringing in Joey Bosa to play with his brother Nick Bosa makes too much sense. It’s kind of surprising that this potential signing hasn’t happened already.
CB Tre'Davious White: Buffalo Bills
The Bills need to fill out their cornerback room, and Brandon Beane has been open about a potential reunion with Tre’Davious White. He played great football in Buffalo last season, and bringing him back for atleast one more year wouldn’t hurt the team at all.
WR Brandin Cooks: Kansas City Chiefs
Brandin Cooks signed with the Bills late last season to try and give a spark to the wide receiver room. It took him a little bit to get adjusted, but he did make some solid plays in the playoffs for Buffalo. If he does indeed want to continue his NFL career, the Chiefs could use more wide receiver help to surround Patrick Mahomes. Cooks isn’t in his prime anymore, but can still provide a little bit of value.
WR Curtis Samuel: Las Vegas Raiders
Curtis Samuel being released by the Bills was no surprise to any fans. He did not deliver for Buffalo in two seasons and he was let go prior to the start of the NFL’s legal tampering period. Him still being available isn’t a big surprise, but there might be a team that could get him for a cheap prove-it deal, and I have the Raiders adding him to pair with Kirk Cousins (and then eventually Fernando Mendoza).
DL DaQuan Jones: Houston Texans
The Bills appear to be set at defensive tackle for now, but it wouldn’t for them to add another player for training camp competition. One player that is most likely done with Buffalo is DaQuan Jones, and I am predicting that he goes down south to join an already stacked Houston Texans defense.
EDGE A.J. Epenesa: Buffalo Bills
While the Bills brought in a little bit of edge rusher help, they could still use another body or two. A.J. Epenesa was set to sign with the Cleveland Browns, but then the Browns decided not to based on how they felt about his physical. Now that he is still available, Buffalo should strongly consider bringing him back for another season to add some quality depth for Jim Leonhard.
LB Shaq Thompson: Carolina Panthers
Thompson was by far Buffalo’s best linebacker last season and it would make sense for the Bills to bring him back from a veteran point of view. However, I don’t see Thompson coming back simply because of the defensive scheme change that Buffalo has on their defense. With that, I have him going back to Carolina where he spent all of his career before coming to Buffalo last season.
