The Buffalo Bills have a high chance at being part of a second “Game of the Year” matchup against the Detroit Lions this Sunday. Just last weekend, the Bills fell short of a comeback against the Los Angeles Rams in a 44-42 thriller. Buffalo had not lost since Week 5 so they are coming to visit a red hot Lions team that has been beating down opponents since Week 3.

Part of the reason why the Bills currently stand at 10-3 and are AFC East champions already is because of star quarterback Josh Allen. In the last two games, we have seen Allen break the record for the most touchdowns in Bills franchise history, be the first quarterback to have a throwing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in a game, and then score three passing and three rushing touchdowns. Long story short, Josh Allen is the MVP of the league up to this point.

This is arguably Allen’s best year he’s had since 2020. As the season has progressed, he’s become more aggressive but has also found a way to play smart football. He’s only thrown five interceptions this year. The least amount he has thrown for in a season is nine.

While Allen has been on a hot streak, he is going up against one of his toughest units in the Lions. Since Week 10, the Lions are only allowing 183 passing yards per game and they have three players (Kerby Joseph, Brian Branch, Carlton Davis) who had 2+ interceptions.

Can Josh Allen overcome this tough Lions defense?

This is the type of game where most quarterbacks struggle, especially on the road. Allen has shown Bills fans that he can endure the noise and the distractions and just continue to play his brand of football.

The last time the Bills and Lions faced off was in 2022 on Thanksgiving when the Bills made a phenomenal comeback to win 25-22. We could very well see this game come down to the wire again, but it will depend on who has the ball last.

No matter who has the ball last, this is the perfect bounce back game for Allen and the Bills to thrive and show the NFL once again that the Bills are not to be messed with.

Prediction: 30/40, 345 yards, 4 touchdowns, 12 carries, 50 yards, 1 touchdown
