Josh Allen's MVP campaign takes a massive step forward despite loss to Rams
By Brandon Ray
The Buffalo Bills came out on the losing side in what is a candidate for the game of the year against the Los Angeles Rams, losing 44-42. After being down 31-17, the Bills came roaring back in the second half to the point where they had a shot to steal a victory from the Rams. One of, probably the only reason why was because of none other than Josh Allen himself.
While the Bills defense was letting Matthew Stafford throw all over them and allowing the rushing attack to own the ground, Allen was doing his own thing on his side of the ball.
Allen threw for 342 yards and 3 touchdowns while also running for 82 yards and 3 touchdowns. He became the second player in NFL history with 3 passing touchdowns and 3 rushing touchdowns in one game.
Allen also finsihed the game with a QB rating of 117.2 and avoided getting sacked. It's very rare to have an MVP-like game and come out with a loss. However, it's happened to Allen now.
Josh Allen continues on the right path for his first MVP award
This was a thriller of a game and part of the reason why was because of Allen. His ability to make the throws he can make, and take off at any moment with his legs is just beyond impressive. This version of Allen is much different than what we have seen in prior years.
Usually we see Allen trying to force big plays and it turns into a disaster. That has not been the case the season whatsoever. He’s been smarter and more efficient with the ball. He and Eagles running back Saquon Barkley were in a two-man race for the MVP until Allen pushed himself forward last week against the San Francisco 49ers.
Now despite coming out on the loser side of this game, Allen yet again demonstrated that the award should go to no one other than him. With four games remaining in the regular season, Allen can continue to show off his MVP run and he will be looking to continue it in Detroit next Sunday.
