Safety

It is an end of an era for the Buffalo Bills at the safety position and while it is sad to see, it isn't overly surprising as Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer were getting towards the end of their careers. Hyde is set to be a free agent but if the Bills were to bring him back, he wouldn't have Poyer playing alongside him as he was released last week.

The Buffalo Bills did already make one move though as they re-signed Taylor Rapp to a three-year deal. He was primarily a backup last season but did start four games however the contract he signed is an indication that he should have a bigger role and is expected to be a starter.

The good news is that among all the needs the Buffalo Bills have, the safety position is probably the deepest in free agency. This is one position that the Bills shouldn't have a problem finding a starting safety to play next to Rapp and it shouldn't cost them that much.
